A Noble Heritage

Map of Valle de Guerra, 1833
Finca Samartin has graced the landscape of Valle de Guerra since at least 1833, when it first appeared on historical maps of the region. This remarkable property carries with it centuries of Canarian heritage and aristocratic provenance.
Historical registries reveal that the estate belonged to Ángel Benítez de Lugo y Cólogan, the distinguished Marqués de la Celada and Mayor of La Laguna. A descendant of one of the first Spanish families to settle in Tenerife, his legacy is woven into the very fabric of Canarian history.
"In 1906, he was appointed Gentleman of the Chamber to His Majesty Alfonso XIII. His contributions to La Laguna included bringing electric lighting and modernizing the city's infrastructure."
